and last night we finally managed to enter the twilight zone.
a short visit there was good enough.

waiting to visit the twilight zone was a definite.
but once we were in.
all around blasts : welcome to the twilight zone.

being the rather belated 'birthday girl'.
had to down a drink. a mix of graveyard & punch.
a pink solution i remember.
they guys, upon the pretense to get me high,
opened up to 3 botts of Moet.
but i was already in the twilight zone a lil after that.
a relatively short visit and i was all sobered up.
but instead of them getting me 'dead', the other 3 out of 4 were literally GONE.

Reggie & Des were being good club nannies.
watching out for noobs like me and pros like the rest.
making sure that alls ok.

i wouldnt know what to do w/out them while in the twilight zone.
BUT i was still a lil sober then. and even forced myself to think sober.
ahha.

by 4+ , des and i had to dragg the two pissed drunk guys out.
while teo went in search for kang in the twilight zone.
by the time i got home, it was 5am.
showered and everything.
though my hair still smelled of smoke and cigarette.
i fell straight to sleep, with damp hair upon the towel.

tuition at 10 today. got up at 1015.
rushed down and was still a lil tipsy.
and now. ill prolly try to get some deprived sleep of mine

the rest of the day ill be spending with the 0511'ers at a chalet.

the day at work was alright. busying arranging and doing up stuff for the visual merchandising competition thats goin on.
got back at about 640 to a sister who kept pestering me to go run.
darn. my muscles are still aching from the swim!
but thinking that it would do me good.
we went for a quick 25 minute run round the area..
it felt good and it was not so tiring.
the body's keeping up!
im glad.

it was shower then to church for cell.
talked bout forgiveness from the heart..
i guess it would kinda have come into good use in the past.
but well, now it'll prolly apply for another of my situation.
sigh.

met up with the ben kang together with jon sis and van
had dinner @ Macs and chilled to almost one before heading back home.

as i plonk my rather knotted up muscles on my bed.
the time reads 1:55:03.
and thus, sleep beckons.

its been a long long day for me.
thought half a day of school, powerpoint slides for tml's presentation has to be rushed.
then we had music practise and i think my voice has gone a lil cuckoo.

followed by a FABULOUS dinner @ the Straitskitchen.
met Joannnnn outside Hyatt,
before giving in for a quick spin round Far East.
its been eons since ive last been to town.
Went back in for dinner and nat karin & aunty doreen has already started eating!
mostly chinese and indian food.
took the plunge for tring out indian food, and it was just damn good.

the spices werent too strong ( the way i like it)
they had like fruit/veg/spinach/something salad with special tangy sauces
a dish which looked like tofu, but is actually cheese and chilli
uber good naans ( i think) & tortilla-chips look alike with tomato yoghurt
indian chicken drums
oyster egg omelettes with lotsa oysters
cod fish steamed to perfect tenderness
vegs and mushrooms and soya sauce
muahchee with lotsa peanuts
buloh hitam with dashes of coconut milk
sago with gula malaka and coconut milk
fruits jelly and chinchow

nat was supposedly on a diet.
and was still munching on a plate of longan and mangosteen;
arguing that she;s not gonna get them in the states and that shes loves them.
aunty Jen then asks for the camera fm me,
we ( the cousins) thought that we were about to catch nat in one of those food shots.
but before we knew it.
a whole group of white apron wearing waiters and waitresses were crowding round our table
and singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY (not to the original birthday tune though)
and placing cheesecake with a candle on top.
and rushing to have a place in the picture taken

reaction from both nat and i : O.o
we were so shocked and lets say, pleasantly surprised!
none of us saw this coming!
we sure have sneaky aunties.

oh and my poor cousin josef, had his neck in a neckbrace(?)
appparently someone jumped onto him in those inflatable jumping tower thing
and he fractured his C1 and C2, spine.
just thank God that he;s doing fine and not paralyzed.

everyone went back with a bulging tummy (definitely)...
all that food... who wouldnt?
thank goodness im on a carbo loading diet for today and tml for the race on sat. as instructed.
which wouldnt make me feel so bad. (ok, that is obviously an excuse!)

poooooped to the MAXXX.

it has seemed like ages since ive last used a computer. besides the cash register.
my legs are sore, and the legs has finally taken its toll.
the muscles. oh lets not go there.

days in the new tep stopover has been... fun, interesting,info overload.
but ive finally felt that im seriously rest deprived. over lunch.
met the tprd girls for lunch, and had a slice of pizza.
then we were yakking away. but i just sat there.
lay my head against Grace's shoulders.
and i fell asleep.
right there in the NOISY canteen (some girls were screaming away while taking pictures)
i was so so tired.
the sleep spell comes and go.. very much like those monthly cramps.
and the eyelids goes into an auto shutdown mode.

had dinner with the cell people.
mee goreng.double egg rotiprata.dinosaur.
damn.
haha.. fellowship was good..
but really geeky topics.
which is actually really interesting.

todays the first day of what is to come for
the next 6 weeks.

shifting from the back end of TPRD to the
front end of MSC's Valueshop.
was a little weird..
getting back to all the hi-i-am-__-you- are stuffs...
but its cool..
the team members (which is only another 2 girls) are pretty neat people.
so it shouldnt be a problem.
and this means having to wear a ~~blue~~ red polo top and jeans;

for the next 6 weeks.
no skirts. no sandals.
polo top and jeans. DAMN.
but its good for a change once in awhile.

tennis yesterday with conz was great.
plus three rounds round the stadium as cool down.
great to get those toxins out once more.(:

the morning started with a rude awakening.
damn dreams.
with that its probably why my team mate
asked if i had enough sleep
cause ive just isolated myself from the group
and stare straight into the computer.
"Lack of proper sleep, i guess"
but thats another story.

todays atmosphere is one that causes one with a quicken heartbeat.
or maybe its just me.
upon entering the room.
computers were on.
and everyone sitting firmly onto the seats.
ensuring that they secure a place,
due to the lack of (proper) computers in here.
then it is on to fixing our eyes on the screen and type away.

thats the dark cloud hanging over everyone in here today.

a cold cold shower (read: rain) in the morning just feels so good.

droned..
its almost two in the afternoon,
and im in the comforts of my own home!
was down with a horrible horrible fever yesterday.
apparently, was feeling the signs in the morning
when i got up to a very bad throat.
presentation in the afternoon. but just a lil before that..
i felt the effects of the beckoning fever
the head weighing a ton.throat hurts like hell.the skin hurts when touched. stomach trembled (which was a first)
but managed to pull through the presentation. or was it more of a sharing session?

got back. hit the sack after popping pills.
but by 3, i was feeling way better,
thus getting up to watch the FRANCE vs PORTUGAL.
fell asleep quite afew times.
though C.Ronaldo kept missing his shots.
and Zidane scoring through a penalty.
even if the referee was a little annoying,
seemingly to give Portugal so many fouls.
but France ended up having more of that :X

a rather mudane match, with quite a number of close calls.
though the last part where both captains gave each other encouraging hugs.
that my friend, is true sportsmen ship.

breathe

thats what ive been trying to do the
whole of yesterday and today.
the work has been piling on as we
enter the most hectic week of all the past.

as the work piles and endless meetings come.
i constantly find myself holding my breathe.
as if to help me absorb what was to come.
and once it hits. i breathe out.
as though releasing the pressure.

and i realise that this has been my habit.
whenever things get a tad stressful.
i would also hold breathe and release.
thus it seemingly seems that i always "sigh".
did a rather quirky test this morning as i stepped into the office.

my was relatively not too fast. but not that slow either.
so what did it mean?
we scrolled down.
and it showed that the faster you see the pictures spin.
the worse you are able to cope with stress.

so i guess im not that inclined to cope with stress that well eh?

so teensgames is over. and im looking forward to next year's.
Playday was yesterday in church.
boy did we have 1 hellava time.
all those bubblegums/peanutbuttercups/mint chocs
mel brought back fm the states were so high in sugar
it kinda made us go high throughout the whole afternoon.
high enough for me to spear a relatively big chunk of wood,
from the caram ( spelling?) board.
mind you, i was just about to START playing.
so for the whole day, i totted around the room with
a piece of wood in the thumb.
the girls were just high.
playing the ultimate game of TruthorDare JENGA.
which were played some mind blowing dares. truly.
twisting up among each other in a game of Twister.
which made us end up in piles of knots.and cramps.
but lotsa laughter and sore sore body parts.
who would think that the older ones (which is us),
actually enjoyed ourselves more than the younger ones.
who are 'supposedly' more inclined to these games.
definitely a good bonding session for anyone.anytime.
give it a try!

went to the doc's to get the wood out of the finger.
lemme paint a rough scene of my finger and wod.
imagine a door wedge stuck firmly into the door,
to prevent it from being slam shut.
that was what it was like.
tight and firmly stuck inbetween my nail.and flesh.
a jab of anaesthetic was a must.
since it already hurts so badly even at the tip of it.
so jab.dig.pull.pull. POP. out comes the first long piece of wood.
blood flows out. ah. relive? nope.
the splinter was apparently so rittle that there was a piece still stuck inside.
so he dig.dig.cut my nail.scrape dig. and finally after some trying.
it came out.
boy was i glad.
and i dont understand how U are able to tell the church doctor that
the piece was a small case and its nothing.
when the freaking piece of wood was so damn BIG !
in such cases, i rather U make a big fuss of it.
than to think nothing of it!

but anyway, my thumb is on its way to being healed.
so it doesnt really matter.
what im trying to figure out is...
how to get the bandage removed,
the bandage which is stuck to my raw skin with dried blood.

so as i lay belly down typing this on the sisters lappy.
my mind starts to wander back to the past few days.
how conversions flowed rather easily.
how everything seemed so familiar and natural.
how in times of nervousness and distress,
just eye contact was needed.
to soothe those nerves of mine.
just eye contact alone.
there was communication.
encouraging & supporting.
but how its like something from a blog i read.
is it all just me feeling this way?
is it all just me and my mind?

Break from the Break

so from the past few entries..
which was literal photo blogging.
ive been kept busy despite my supposed "break"
after the KL trip.
i spent the next day recuperating at home.
lazing around. only to find 1/2 a day gone when i got up.
the next, which was yest.
was TEENS GAMES 2006.
its where the facilitators come up with diff games.
and its an inter-church friendly match.
so there were the U15 soccer U18 captains ball U24 pool.
which we took part in.
long waiting time was what we were met with.
brain tortouring.
especially with the immense heat radiating fm the ppls HOT body.
pun intended.
so while i didnt even manage to see the 1st game the U18 girls played.
due to the much delaaaayed timing.
i had to leave NTU. and head for Lavender.
its like friggin two different sides of singapore.
thankgod for MRT concessions. :)
got to the pool area.
and boy was it a first for me.
glad to say after much waiting and anticipation.
it was our turn.
didnt play too bad.
i think the guy i competed with nearly went berserk
with all the balls which i popped.
haha..

met the girls in town
supposedly for mango sales.

and yes, that was the theme of the camp this year round.

got to KL early.. about 12+ 1 in the morning.
so fm the pics. thank God of 24 hours Mac,
where we chilled for almost an hour waiting to get
a lift back to the resort.
the girls stayed up to welcome us in.
it was then straight to bed..
early morning ahead.

second day.
speaker : Mike Constatine was speaking.
He talked about changes.
How changes can be bad and good.
and how, instead of being affected by these changes,
we can use it.. and try to at least work on the situation.
wasnt too bad.
had lunch
snapped pics at the lagoon. (see pictures)
the youths were whisked off for shoppin spree.
3 different places fm 2+ - 10 . shiok
went to times sq. nothing much to buy.
so kinda window shopped.
the guys were smart.
they decided to pop by the indoor theme park
right on the top level.
sat the rollercoasters and all.
darn it. should have followed them
so onto the next place. sungei wang - if im not wrong.
abit less ex stuff. but didnt get much..
got a bag + belt. thats it.
walked for a good 40 minutes to chinatown.
where dinner called us.
roadside hawkers gave us food.
cheaper and VERY MUCH nicer.
the satay/bakkutteh/claypotrice
wa shiok like WHAAAD.
but fm the pics with Jer in the yellow top.
the ceiling... were FAT FAT LIZARDS.
so faith and i decided not to look
and concentrate on the food instead.
needed to digest our overly bloated stomachs.
so headed over to their aka masar malam kinda thing.
squeezeed around. woo and we saw a fight which was
about to break out. but it didnt. ):
got a top. and LUO HAN GUO drink.
SEDAPP (!!!)
got back. showered. did masks
which made us look kinda like ghosts.
eerie.
then we kinda past out slowly but surely.

third day.
worship was fantastic.
all the songs just spoke so so strongly.
despite it being all the older songs.
most of us were a little half dead during the sermon.
but the pastor then spoke about hiding places.
about how one hides behind things.
like computer games/glutton/work/even in God's Work.
that kinda woke everyone up.
especially the youths.
it spoke so directly.
alter call.. but not many went up.
then God started working
(not that He hasnt been moving Hands tho)
an aunty came up and she felt pressed that
the Lord was calling the youths up.
slowly we made our way up.
just going up. reaching in the front.
most of us just broke down .
and wept and wept and wept.
it was such release. its been a long time.
for me, for the rest of them too.
we fell on our knees crying out.
youths and their parents reconciled.
pain.agner.sadness.disappointments
were all release.
God was indeed moving in the room.
the Rev then came to the front .
and he being the head. came to bless us.
but he too, felt our hurts felt our sorrows.
he too. just cried.

but through this whole period.
i believe that God has changed us.
for the better.
showed us that there is a way out of everything.
nothing is ever too small for Him to deal with.

it felt good.
good to know that in His time.
things will be made good.
That to Let God be God.
for His plans are definietly better than what we want
He is always around for us to look up to.
and to hang on to.
good to know that all this time
when im in doubt, He never left me.
It was i who went into hiding.
going in circles and circles.
forgetting why were we there
in the first place.
it was indeed a fruitful session.

we had lunch.
before sending Ps eze off.
he needed to be in China the very next day..
got back to the room and brain-stormed
on our performing item later in the day.
this meant that we had to scrape our ice-skating plans.
but boy was it fun fun fun.
we decided on touching on the Hiding places sermon.
we showed how and what are the possible hiding places
of us youths these days.
prepared everything in about 2 hours plus .
and headed for a quick shopping spree at MINES
with faith shirls and jer.
shirls went back w1/2 way.
Jer went to find for his converse shoes.
so leaving faith and i.
we headed to the stores and shopped away.
grabbed whatever caught our eyes.
tried. and bought.
ended up with like .4 shirts and a shorts.
and since we were supposed to be back at 630.
it was already 7.00 . we bpught hotdogs for dinner.
got back to the room in a record breaking 3 minutes.
which left our legs numb to the core.
practised once thru and were whisked off for performance.
enjoyed all the other 10 items.
though we only managed consolation
played polar bear in the room till the wee hours
before bunking in.
it was the last day.

so yea.
had our last short sermon and
it was testimony time.
touching.funny.interesting to sumaarize em.
lunch didnt look too good.
so us girls decided to make a quick one to MINES.
for some kenny rogers.
shiok.
by the time we rushed back to the room.
the whole bus was waiting for 3 of em.
goodness!!! hhaa..
nell and i packed our stuff.
was the last one in the whole church to check out

bunked into nells car and off we left for sunny singapore.
sleep music toiletbreak snack guitar playing sharing.
to accompany us through the long way back.
especially the jammed causeway.
had dinner at chongpang.
before hitting NP.
then home

it was definitely God's plan for me
to go for the church camp this year
to show me that there is a way.
and that all this while, Hes been hearing me.
and that in His time.
He makes all things beautiful.
and i say a big AMEN to that !

Time has come ...
kwang kwang kwang
as maurice would put it.

the air in the room was tense.
everyone had the jittery bug in them.
not knowing what to expect.
as the dark rain clouds gathered o'er head.
and as it rainnnns down.
the tension in the room got higher and higher.
and as the dreaded time came.
the tension shot skyhigh.
for the time has come.
one by one,
they went in,
but within a few blinking moments.
they came out.
with a look on their face.
undescribable.
with mixed emotions,
the next went in for the kill.
-
waiting was excruciating,
yet wanting the moment for it to be all over.
with a deep breathe, i stood and went it.
after seeing a fellow teammate coming out.
this is it. i tell myself.
somehow it felt like a meet the parent session.
except this time round. i was going solo.
sinking into the seat, expecting to hear the results.
Thoughts wander through your mind.
as the results and expectations were read.
it aint so bad after all.
cause so. i was able to leave the doghouse,
heaving a sigh of relieve,
calling the next person who could have been feeling
what ive just experince.
